The Finderne First Aid and Rescue Squad is charged with providing emergency medical services to the residents and visitors of the community of Finderne, in the township of Bridgewater, NJ. We have been providing this service since 1965.
Our jurisdiction is 10 square miles and covers 10,000 residents, as well as many more during the daytime hours. Included in Finderne is the TD Bank Ballpark and the Bridgewater Promenade.
The Squad has around 30 volunteer professionals ranging in roles from Drivers and Cadets to Emergency Medical Technicians. While they are not on call, our members come from all walks of life and generate a very diverse group of individuals. They balance their personal life with their volunteer life providing emergency care for their community. In many cases, members go on to start a career in the emergency services and become police officers, paramedics and doctors.
Our squad strives to give the best pre-hospital care in the time of need and constantly undergoes training to further their skills. Drivers take classes in ambulance maneuvers and operations and our EMTs take continuing education courses offered by Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy.
Our Cadet Program
Our squad also has a cadet program for teenagers aged 16 to 18 to participate in that will give them real world experience being a volunteer rescuer. Our cadets ride on calls with other members and can even certified as (although fully supervised) EMTs before their 18th birthday.
